Facilitation – Facilitated several Department of Homeland Security/Transportation Security Administration (TSA) teambuilding and action planning sessions. Also led members of senior management team of EPA/OCFO in the development of new program policies and procedures. Co-facilitated a strategic planning retreat with Ron Gunn for the City of New York Department of Buildings. Conducted telephonic focus groups for the National Industries for the Blind.

Coaching and Training – Coached individual employees of the U.S. FDA regarding how to be more effective in dealing with organizational change. She has delivered staff and managerial training in conflict management, team building, organizational effectiveness, matrix management, and strategic plan development for a variety of business and government clients. Designed training curriculum: Topics include valuing cultural diversity, leadership, organizational effectiveness, conflict management, and customer service. Delivered numerous mentoring/coaching training workshops for the Defense Finance and Accounting Services in over 20 cities throughout the U.S. Delivered customer service training to numerous government agencies including Environmental Protection Agency, Department of the Interior, Department of Agriculture, and the Food and Drug Administration.

Surveys/Assessments – Designed and administered employee surveys for the Department of Energy and collected and analyzed the data.

Action Planning – Key role in developing the TSA Action Planning Toolkit. Facilitated strategic visioning and action planning retreat for the Civil Rights Office of the Agriculture Research Service within the U.S. Department of Agriculture. At the Environmental Protection Agency/Office of the Chief Financial Officer, conducted assessments of organizational and team needs; consulted with leaders and employees to implement actions to achieve greater levels of cohesiveness and productivity.

Change Management – Ms. Hickman led managers and team leaders at the U.S. Health and Human Services/Food and Drug Administration through the processes of implementing and managing organizational change. She taught Individuals and Change in Organizations course at the Johns Hopkins University School of Management.

Organizational and Team Development – Worked with a highly specialized team at the Scientific Applications and International Corporation (SAIC) to assess issue areas and design strategic, corrective action plans.
